DC Comics - Blackest Night

Well, since I picked up my subscriptions at my home comic shop (Rebel Base Comics, shout out to Ian), and started reading this mini series, I must say a couple of things. This war of light theme going through the GL titles and the greater DC universe in general is great, but does DC need another mega event? The other thang I must say is, the whole gore/zombie shit that is currently permiating throughout comicdom is annoying the ish out of me, but that being said, the book gets a thumbs up/fist bump/high five from me, however there is some ish that needs some 'splaining': Like the whole power level of the resurrected DC Heroes via the Black Lantern rings?
